Young Men’s Tales

with 4 comments

[ Charlie's note: I loved working on this piece. It's the first serious piece of non fiction I've put up on this space. "Young Men's Tales" is an essay on some famous characters from English novels by Indian authors.

Hope you enjoy the change from all the usual stuff I post! :) ]

  1. Nice observations! I haven’t read Train to Pakistan, but would like to, after reading this.

Somehow I have never liked Indian writers’ style as much. I didn’t know that you read this much, or with the eye of a critic :-)

  2. Heh, yes, I grew up on as steady a diet of Bond and Narayan as I did of Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl and I love their writing. :)

    • Thanks! :) I wrote this for the online magazine I write for, but they didn’t use it. :| Anyway, I’ve been looking to write a properly researched non-fiction piece for a while, I haven’t really done that before. This sounded like a good idea.
